Tomorrow raises prices - and kicks customers out

The banking start-up initially lured customers with free accounts. There's nothing left of that now.
The banking start-up Tomorrow is taking the next step in raising prices and now it is also hitting existing customers, as the start-up for sustainable banking and investment admitted in the middle of the week. Customers who previously had free accounts will have to shell out 4.90 euros for the account model "Change" in the next twelve months, and 2.70 euros for "Now". This is slightly cheaper than the current offers for new customers, which are seven and three euros respectively. Anyone who does not switch to the paid account by October 15 will then have to cancel. Free accounts for new customers have not been available for a year.
The start-up cites its costs as the reason for the new fees. "Every account costs us money," it writes in its current message to customers. And not too scarcely: "Our costs for the accounts currently free for you are 5 to 7 euros per account and per month. So we pay on top."
The start-up does not want to accept this any longer and is therefore pulling up the prices for the free accounts. Meanwhile, it is not clear how many customers this actually affects, as Tomorrow states that it has currently been able to convince 130,000 users, but does not disclose how many are currently using the app and the offer free of charge.
