Over 60 million euros for Marvel Fusion

Future project: The aim is to fully demonstrate feasibility and build a fusion power plant in the USA by 2027.

Landshut/Munich, September 2024 - Marvel Fusion, a tech company in the field of fusion energy, has raised more than 60 million euros in a Series B financing round. Investors include Bayern Kapital, HV Capital, b2Venture, Tengelmann Ventures, the German Federal Agency for Jump Innovations (SPRIND), Deutsche Telekom, Earlybird Venture Capital and several family offices from Europe.

With the Series B financing and the support of the European Innovation Council (EIC), we can further develop our technology to take the next step towards the commercialization of fusion power plants.

Marvel Fusion is developing a method of power generation based on ultrashort pulse laser technology. This technology should make it possible to use fusion fuels to generate energy more efficiently and safely than before. The funds raised will be used to further develop and expand production capacities and to confirm the feasibility of the technology.

Marvel Fusion aims to make fusion energy available for commercial use. This process could provide clean, low-risk and low-cost energy - a solution to the global challenges of the energy transition. The technology has the potential to become a scalable and reliable source of energy that is independent of geopolitical factors.

Partnerships and future plans

Together with Colorado State University, Marvel Fusion is building a demo facility in the USA to demonstrate the performance of laser technology by 2027. The world's most powerful short-pulse laser system is being built as part of a public-private partnership worth 150 million US dollars.
