Workmotion receives 50 million US dollars

The start-up has thus successfully completed its Series B financing round. The main backer comes from Silicon Valley.
The Berlin start-up Workmotion has raised 50 million US dollars in its Series B financing round. Silicon Valley venture capital firm Canaan led the round. The venture capital funds Heliad and GR Capital are also new investors. Other investors include Activant Capital, Xange and Picus Capital. The existing investors already include 22 business angels, including Personio CEO Hanno Renner, as well as the founders of Flixbus and Klarna. Workmotion intends to use the new capital to expand its HR platform.
Carsten Lebtig, Felix Steffens and Karim Zaghloul founded Workmotion in 2020. "We are delighted to welcome the new investors Canaan, Heliad and GR Capital on board and would like to thank our new and existing investors for the trust they have placed in us," says Lebtig, CEO of Workmotion. "Especially in the current difficult economic situation, in which investments through growth capital are declining, we are all the more pleased to announce this round."
Workmotion aims to support companies in building international work teams. It provides remote talent via its platform. The start-up's software also allows companies to manage their globally distributed workforce. It can also be used to organize country-specific salaries or remote work contracts. The start-up says it is active in more than 160 countries and employs over 250 people.
