According to a Bloomberg report, the Swiss online pharmacy is currently weighing several options. A sale is also not ruled out, the report said.

Swiss online pharmacy Zur Rose is said to be weighing a Bloomberg report reportedly weighing various strategic options, including possibly a sale. The company has reportedly held talks with potential buyers in recent months, including U.S. buyout firms KKR & Co and Hellman & Friedman, Bloomberg writes, citing people familiar with the matter.

Zur Rose would not comment to Bloomberg. The company would be founded in 1993 in Switzerland and was initially aimed only at doctors. In 2001, however, Zur Rose also began shipping medicines to doctors.

In 2017, the company, which also owns Dutch mail-order pharmacy Docmorris, went public in Switzerland, and in 2020 Zur Rose bought Munich-based startup Teleclinic.

The share price of the Swiss online pharmacy has fallen by around 80 percent within the last twelve months. A few days ago, however, the stock received a brief boost because the company announced that it would break even by 2023 on the basis of adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
