The Munich-based start-up is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Now the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft from Austria is taking a stake in Ampeers Energy and receiving a quarter of the start-up.

Ampeers Energy (AE) is dedicated to energy optimization in buildings, and now the Austrian Federal Real Estate Corporation (BIG) is investing in the start-up. BIG is acquiring a 25.1 percent stake in the Munich-based company. "BIG has set itself the ambitious goal of achieving a largely climate-neutral energy supply for its properties," says BIG CEO Hans-Peter Weiss. "The participation in AE is a next consistent step for BIG in the decarbonisation of its properties," Weiss continues.

Ampeers Eneergy is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft founded in 2019. For the cooperation with BIG, AE is founding a subsidiary to implement the projects in Austria. For example, BIG plans to use AE's software in the "Village im Dritten" construction project in Vienna, where residential and commercial space is to be developed on around 11 hectares of building land.
