Amsis successfully completes seed financing round

The software start-up specializes in 3D metal printing. The money comes from the HGZ Group.

Bremen-based Amsis has successfully completed its seed funding round. The software company is considered an expert in simulation-based 3D metal printing. As the industry portal 3dprint reports, Amis now wants to further develop its "Genesis" software - and go to market with it.

"Genesis" is a simulation-based software for data preparation. It should make it possible to print workpieces three-dimensionally with less or even no excess support structure. Until now, such support structures have been necessary in 3D printing to stabilize overhanging parts. "Especially in industrial 3D metal printing, there is still a huge efficiency gap with regard to manufacturing time and process stability. With the Amsis solution, we are taking a big step towards the upcoming industrialization of 3D printing technology," says HZG Managing Director Frank Carsten Herzog.

Amsis was founded in 2017 by Vasily Ploshikhin. He is head of the Airbus Endowed Chair for Integrative Simulation and Engineering of Materials and Processes at the University of Bremen. The start-up's technology is based on his research. With the help of the investments, he hopes to, among other things, "switch to growth mode in industrial applications."
