Berlin Senate plans start-up facilitations

Start-ups should be able to apply for public contracts more easily, and women and people with a migration background should be supported in their start-ups. This is what the new senate in Berlin is planning.

The Red-Red-Green coalition agreement for the Berlin Senate promises some relief for start-ups. Among other things, an expansion of the start-up agenda is planned. This is intended to reduce the bureaucratic hurdles for start-ups. The start-up map is also to be continued - a map that gives investors an overview of start-ups in Berlin. The start-up advisory service is also to be expanded.

The new coalition wants to make it easier for women and people with a migration background in particular to start up a business. Networking events for female founders are to be financially supported, and there is to be an advisory service for aspiring female entrepreneurs. The Senate plans to set up a fund just for women founders. There will also be a start-up fund and scholarships for migrants. The Senate would like to continue the competition "Diversity Undertakes", which was initiated in 2019. People with a migration background can apply with their companies and receive prize money of up to 10,000 euros.

Especially in the financial sector, there should be improvements for start-ups. With the Berlin Fintech Initiative, the Senate wants to bring even more fintechs to the capital. Particular support is to be given to companies that pursue ecological and social goals.
