Betterup expands its management team

Angelika Elzahhar becomes the new Regional Vice President and is to strengthen the company's presence in Europe.
The start-up Betterup is expanding its management team. In future, Angelika Elzahhar will support the company, which was founded in 2013, in its expansion as Regional Vice President. The new appointment is part of the start-up's expansion, which aims to increase its presence in Europe in the future. The management team has already grown by 50 percent in the past six months alone.
Elzahhar was most recently Vice President International at Benify. In this role, she was responsible for the expansion of the global market and raised public awareness for the digitalization and democratization of social services in the economy.
Betterup is a start-up for mental health and coaching. The company aims to enable individual behavioral change on a large scale and therefore works with AI technology and behavioral science. In addition to the USA, the virtual coaching sessions are available in over 70 countries.
As part of her new role at Betterup, Angelika Elzahhar and her sales team will drive growth in the German-speaking and international markets. According to Elzahhar, the topic of mental health in the workplace is more topical than ever before. With Betterup, she wants to help make the topic even more visible and break down the associated stigma.
The investors include Morningside Group, SV Angel, Freestyle Capital, Crosslink Capital, ICONIQ Growth, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Tenaya Capital.
