Business angels join forces

Under the name Better Ventures, a new business angel club wants to invest primarily in sustainable start-ups.

30 experienced founders have joined forces to form the new business angel club Better Ventures. Together, they want to finance start-ups in the pre-seed and seed phase and advise new founders on building their businesses. The Business Angels include, for example, Bottle Post founder Stephen Weich, Everdrop founders David Löwe and Christian Becker, and Ankerkraut founder couple Anna and Stefan Lemcke.

The Kartenmacherei founder Christoph Behn, Cedric Duvinage and Tina Dreimann have initiated Better Ventures. The focus is on startups that are sustainable and have an impact on people's lives. "We are looking for world-improving ideas. Of course, this includes those that ensure less Co2 emissions and less plastic, but the topic is even more multi-layered. For me, business models that benefit society are also sustainable, for example new products so that parents can take better care of their children," Behn said back in February in the Startbase interview.

A mid-six-figure sum is to be invested per start-up. Better Ventures' portfolio already includes the manufacturer of sustainable cleaning products Everdrop and the transport start-up Liefergrün.
