The Berlin-based start-up focuses on enterprise automation and is one of the winners of the Corona pandemic with its model. It plans to use the money to drive expansion.

Open source software provider Camunda has raised €82 million in a funding round. The Series B round is led by Insight Partners, with Highland Europe also participating. The venture capitalist was also part of the first round of 25 million euros in 2019.

The startup digitizes and automates businesses. "Today's funding round underscores the tremendous value our software provides to users and customers in process automation every day," says founder and CEO Jakob Freund of Camunda. The startup plans to put the money primarily into expansion and further product optimization.

Camunda's customers include Airbus, Telekom and Axa, for example. By its own account, 2020 was Camunda's best business year, mainly because automation became particularly important for companies due to the Corona pandemic. Insight Partners not only invests in the Berlin-based start-up, but will also support the company itself in its further development in the future.
