What Rhineland-Palatinate is planning for tech start-ups
The state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate are already taking place on March 14. An overview of how the largest parties there want to promote start-ups.
What is the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as a startup location and how much of this is due to startup policy? The digital association Bitkom has published an overview of the positions of all parties currently represented in the state parliament. "Rhineland-Palatinate is often not in the spotlight when discussing start-ups - but wrongly so. The university landscape has always had a strong technology and innovation focus and is an ideal cooperation partner for tech startups," says startup consultant Julius Weber.
The SPD already sees universities "as a magnet for talent". Start-ups are to be supported by a digital administration. Founders should also be "exempted from burdens in legal and administrative regulations" in the first three years after founding a company. There is a rejection of proposals to take start-ups more into account when awarding public contracts.
The CDU wants entrepreneurial thinking and action to be taught in an interdisciplinary manner and, if possible, starting in elementary school. Among other things, the party plans to establish "tax havens for innovative start-ups" in a start-up ecosystem with significant tax breaks and simplifications, including for international business transactions.
The detailed answers of the SPD, CDU as well as the Greens, the FDP and the AfD on the topic of start-ups can be read on the association's website.
