What Rhineland-Palatinate is planning for tech start-ups

The state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate will take place on March 14. An overview of how the largest parties there want to promote start-ups.
How is Rhineland-Palatinate doing as a start-up location and what part does start-up policy play in this? The digital association Bitkom has published an overview of the positions of all parties currently represented in the state parliament. "Rhineland-Palatinate is often not in the spotlight when discussing start-ups - but wrongly so. The university landscape has always had a strong focus on technology and innovation and is an ideal cooperation partner for tech start-ups," says start-up consultant Julius Weber.
The SPD already sees universities "as a magnet for talent". Start-ups should be supported by a digital administration. In addition, founders should be "exempted from legal and administrative burdens in the first three years after founding a company". There is a rejection of proposals to give start-ups greater consideration when awarding public contracts.
The CDU wants entrepreneurial thinking and action to be taught in an interdisciplinary way and, if possible, from elementary school onwards. Among other things, the party plans to establish "tax havens for innovative start-ups" in a start-up ecosystem with significant tax relief and simplifications, including for international business transactions.
The detailed responses from the SPD, CDU, Greens, FDP and AfD on the topic of start-ups can be found on the association's website.
