Around 3,500 students competed for the award. First place went to an e-bike concept from Hesse.

Around 3,500 students in 844 teams took part in the German Business Founder Award for School Students. They drew up a fictitious business plan with a marketing strategy and financial plan. The first prize of the German Business Founder Award went to six young people from the Schloss Hansenberg boarding school in Geisenheim, Voltvoyage. They developed a concept for simplified and climate-friendly charging for e-bikes. The students also convinced with a business plan and a sound analysis in the development of the business idea. The bikes can be charged at a Vstation, and a Vcharger on the bike enables wireless charging on the go. The charging station harvests up to 60% of its power from a solar cell mounted on the station.

Stern editor Doris Scheyink and radio host Volker Groß hosted the evening. The prize is initiated by Stern, the savings banks, ZDF and Porsche.

Robert Habeck, the German Minister for Economics and Climate Protection, was also impressed by the sustainability ideas: "Right now, we should take an example from the smart and creative ideas of the students. The teams can be very proud of their achievements. I hope many of the students will take their entrepreneurial successes with them into their professional lives, perhaps even as future entrepreneurs. Our SME sector needs this dynamism and innovative ideas."

The best-placed teams in the German Founder's Award for School Students will be presented with the German Founder's Award in the category "School Students" by Robert Habeck in the capital city studio of ZDF.
