"Start-up BW" honors founders

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education and L-Bank awarded prizes in two categories to start-ups from the state.

As part of the "Start-up BW" campaign, the state of Baden-Württemberg and L-Bank honored several start-ups.

As part of the Young Talents category, pupils were able to develop and present business ideas in various project modules. Over 70 innovation workshops were held for 2,000 young people. First place went to the Blind Glasses team from HAP-Grieshaber-Gymnasium in Rommelsbach. The group developed a product to support visually impaired people.

Minister of Economic Affairs Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut was delighted with the many ideas from the students: "I am impressed by the diverse business ideas that the young people presented to us today. The new generation of founders are thinking about social issues and sustainability in their products and services."

L-Bank sponsored the prize money for the first three places in the amount of 500 euros, 300 euros and 100 euros. The jury team included Roland Raff from L-Bank, Ulrike Hudelmaier from TFU, Technologieförderungsunternehmen GmbH, Philipp Hoening , Benjamin Schaich and Sarna Röser.

Beneto Foods Gmbh from Albstadt won the Start-up BW Elevator Pitch with a business idea for the development of an automated cricket farm. All 21 start-up teams were assessed by the jury in terms of business model, passion and presentation. Particular attention was paid to the quality of the business model, the maturity of the concept, the unique selling point, the customer benefits and market opportunities as well as the viability of the business model. The prize money for this category amounted to 3,000 euros, 2,000 euros and 1,000 euros, also sponsored by L-Bank.
