At first there were rumors that the US delivery service wanted to invest in gorillas. Now, according to a media report, it has put its money into its competitor Flink.

According to a report by the news agency Bloomberg the US food delivery service Doordash has invested in Flink. Exactly how much money was invested remains unclear. Bloomberg writes of several hundred million US dollars. The start-up is now said to have a valuation of 2.1 billion US dollars.

According to information from Bloomberg , other US companies have already shown interest in Flink in the past. Amazon and Gopuff, an American delivery app supported by Softbank, had previously examined competing takeover bids.

Doordash is the largest food delivery company in the USA. The company appears to have been looking for investment opportunities in Europe for some time. As recently as August, there were rumors that Doordash was looking to invest in the Berlin delivery service Gorillas.
