The two founders Susann Hoffmann and Nora-Vanessa Wohlert set out in 2014 to create a digital home for women. The founders wanted to paint a broader picture of politics, business and society. They ran "Edition F" until 2020, when Wittig took over in January 2021 and Hoffmann and Wohlert joined as partners. Hoffmann says of the bankruptcy: "Insolvency still seems like a defeat today.
