Elokon acquires a stake in Filics

The Munich-based start-up has closed a financing round. Nothing was initially known about the amount of the investment.

Elokon Gmbh, a manufacturer of electronic devices from Tornesch in Schleswig-Holstein, has invested in the Munich-based start-up Filics, according to its own statement. The young company has closed a seed funding round, according to the statement. The round was led by VC 10x, with Robotic Ventures, Industrial Innovators and Klaus Dieter Rosenbach, former CTO of Jungheinrich AG, also said to have given their money.

Filics is developing an autonomously driving transport robot. Two skids independently drive into Euro pallets and lift them. The load can then be moved in a digitally controllable manner. Basically, the robot works like a forklift truck, except that it lacks the entire substructure and does not need a driver.

The first concrete tests are due to take place this autumn. "We were particularly impressed by the professional fundraising process of the young Filics founding team ", says Alexander Glasmacher, CEO of Elokon. "We believe in the strong use cases for the patent-pending Filics solution and see a great synergy potential between Filics and Elokon."
