Layoffs at Delivery Hero

The delivery service is cutting a number of jobs at its Berlin headquarters - also with the aim of becoming profitable next year.
The delivery start-up Delivery Hero is cutting a number of jobs at its Berlin headquarters. This was reported by Manager Magazine. The company did not disclose how many employees are affected by the wave of redundancies. The magazine was only told that it was a small percentage. Delivery Hero has a total of 49,000 employees. The legal, finance and marketing departments in particular are to be affected by the cuts.
However, things were not looking bad for the company financially recently. CEO Niklas Östberg had stated that this year's losses would be lower than expected and that Delivery Hero intends to generate a positive cash flow for the first time next year. According to the company, the redundancies that have now taken place are possibly intended to contribute to profitability and are about operational efficiency.
