The start-up also announced its intention to create 250 jobs in two years. The company currently employs 80 people.

The start-up Evocenta, which was founded last fall, is settling in the Gelsenkirchen Science Park. Evocenta chose Gelsenkirchen in particular because of the city's business development program, according to a joint statement from the city and the start-up.

"With the digital start-up, we have been able to attract a company to our city that will further advance the topics of AI and digitalization in the region," says Lord Mayor Karin Welge (SPD). "We are very much looking forward to the exciting technologies that will be developed here in collaboration with research institutions and universities and to the highly qualified, knowledge-based jobs that will be created as a result. We can make good use of both."

The start-up is developing a digital service platform for companies that work with artificial intelligence. Among other things, the platform will use speech recognition software to help identify and solve problems in the service sector more quickly. Evocenta also offers strategy consulting and transformation for companies. The company now employs 80 people. As part of the move, the start-up announced its intention to create 250 jobs in two years' time.

A research center for artificial intelligence is to be founded this year, linked with research institutes and universities. "Together with the Fraunhofer Institute, Ruhr University Bochum and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, we will show that highly innovative, digital future technologies 'Made in Germany' can play a pioneering role," says Josko Jeraj, Managing Director of Evocenta. "Our planned AI platform is characterized by its high degree of innovation, which does not need to shy away from comparison with developments from the USA."
