Exclusive: Specter Automation secures pre-seed financing

The start-up was able to convince both industry experts and serial founders of its idea. The founders want to establish a data-driven construction site management system.

Specter Automation has successfully completed its pre-seed financing round. The start-up, which was only founded in May 2021, was able to attract various business angels and other investors. According to the company, Jörg Hellwig, Chief Digital Officer of Lanxess, and Alexander Schwörer, owner of the PERI Group, have invested. In total, the investors are said to have invested a high six-figure sum in the start-up, as Startbase learned in advance.

Specter is still a very young start-up that was founded by engineers and economists from RWTH Aachen University and WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, including Niklas Beese, Oliver Eischet, Emanuel Groh, Max Gier and Moritz Cremer. The team has now grown to ten people. They are already testing their own software as part of pilot projects on construction sites. The product should be ready for the market in the first quarter of 2022.

The team now wants to use the money raised to hire technical developers. Specter wants to revolutionize construction site management with its software by using a three-stage process to view and use the data generated on a construction site. This should enable planners and employees to quickly record how far the construction site has progressed. At the end of the project, it should also be possible to see: What went well? What didn't? The idea is that this could then be used to optimize future planning processes.
