Express Tax collected 4.3 million euros this year

Just a year ago, a major investor had bailed out on the tax start-up. Apparently, the company was able to recover from this.
Hamburg-based start-up Expresssteuer has received €4.3 million in investment this year, according to online platform Finance Forward reports. According to the report, the money came from, among others, the founder of the re-commerce company Momox Christian Wegner, Lieferando co-founder Kai Hansen and Tim Stracke from watch marketplace Chrono24. Around 20 investors have joined the company over the course of the year.
Just a year ago, the situation had been anything but good for the startup: A big investor had bailed out. Who it was was not disclosed. However, Expresssteuer was apparently able to recover from the resulting situation. Now things seem to be looking so good for Expresssteuer that, according to Finance Forward, the startup is even targeting a Series A financing.
Expresssteuer offers a service that allows customers to prepare their tax returns online within minutes. The startup can then connect them with a tax advisor. This can then be commissioned to submit the tax return to the tax office. On average, customers of the start-up are supposed to get a refund of 1069 euros.
