Finanzen.net launches its own neobroker on the market

The portal is actually known for its information about the world of finance, but the offering has been expanding for some time now. It operates its own stock exchange, a robo-advisor and, more recently, its own neobroker: Finanzen.net Zero.

At the end of March, the Finanzen.net portal bought the start-up Gratisbroker, and now the neobroker's offering has been integrated into Finanzen.net and can be found as a separate app. Under the name Finanzen.net Zero, users can trade shares, ETF savings plans and crypto trading.

The connection to the Finanzen.net brand, which claims to have six million monthly users, should provide a good entry into the neobroker market, where competitors such as Trade Republic and Scalable Capital are courting customers: "We want to be among the top three in Germany," Jens Ohr told Finance Forward. He founded the portal together with Peter Schille in 2000. Axel-Springer-Verlag took over the service in 2010. Finanzen.net launched its own robo-advisor in 2019 and has also been operating its own stock exchange under the name BSDEX with the Stuttgart Stock Exchange and Axel Springer Verlag since 2019.

Finanzen.net took on all employees when it acquired Gratisbroker, including the three founders Malte Rubruck, Philipp Röben and Stefan Mross. Since then, they have dedicated themselves to the further development of their Gratisbroker offering at Finanzen.net, with support from Schille and Ohr. The two replaced Maximilian von Richthofen as CEO of Finanzen.net on April 1, 2021; today, Schille and Ohr are partners in the company and also oversee the Finanzen.net Zero offering.
