Frischepost expands to Munich

The food delivery service Frischepost wants to supply more and more cities with regional fruit and vegetables following a new round of financing.
Frischepost now also delivers in Munich. The location was already announced last fall. The start-up wants to expand to even more cities this year, including Cologne and Frankfurt. Expansion into the Ruhr region and to Hanover and Stuttgart is also planned, but co-founders and investors are still missing for the regions, reports the Wirtschaftswoche. So far, users from Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Mainz can use the service. The start-up distributes licenses for the cities - similar to a franchise system - while the Hamburg-based GmbH takes care of brand management and the IT infrastructure. The start-up was only able to raise a seven-figure investment in November.
Frischepost works with regional farms and farmers. Users can buy boxes of seasonal produce and subscriptions for weekly deliveries via the website and then have them delivered by electric car. Juliane Willing and Eva Neugebauer founded the start-up in Hamburg in 2015. Frischepost employs 135 people, 90 of whom work in Hamburg.
