With a raised sum of almost one million euros, the Berlin-based healthtech startup plans to further develop its breathing air diagnostic devices, train the algorithm and conduct initial clinical tests in collaboration with partner clinics.

Berlin - Halitus, a Berlin-based healthtech startup, has successfully closed a pre-seed funding round, attracting Nikolas Weber, Oliver Diekmann and Christoph Behn from better ventures as investors. In this round, the startup was able to raise just under one million euros. In addition, Angels4Health, OKG Capital and Infinite Digital also invested in the company.

The funds from the financing round will be used to advance the development of the breathing air diagnostic devices. This will include further training of the algorithm and initial clinical testing in collaboration with partner clinics.

The successfully completed financing round will allow us to further develop our AI-based analysis tool and have initial clinical tests conducted. Both are essential for the quality of our measurement devices.

Dr. Sven Jungmann, Co-Founder of Halitus

Halitus was founded in 2021 by Dr. Sven Jungmann, a medical doctor, and Dr. Sergey Davydov, an engineer, Matt Grimot, a mathematician, and Sergey Repenko, an economist. In 2022, the company won the digital health award from Novartis Germany.

The healthtech startup is developing an AI-powered analysis tool that uses laser technology and machine learning to quickly and easily detect disease-relevant biomarkers in breath. The device is small and portable, and it will be able to be used at clinics, medical practices, as well as other locations such as airports, mass gatherings, and pharmacies. In the long term, the company plans to offer a SaaS solution that provides AI-driven interpretation and decision support for physicians. This is expected to enable simple and fast diagnostics. Additionally, the device has applications in clinical research.

In the future, halitus will enable medical practices to make faster and better diagnostic decisions - using only the air they breathe

Tina Dreimann, co-founder better ventures

Halitus analyzes the smallest molecules in the air we breathe to gain insights into processes in the human body. This has applications in disease detection, precision medicine and medical research. The company has well-known investors and already won the Digital Health Award in 2021. Their vision is to enable fast and straightforward disease detection right at the point of care.
