Harbiz secures 5 million euro financing round

Fitness platform Harbiz secures €5 million in funding round led by Octopus Ventures for expansion in UK and Germany

Madrid, January 18, 2024 - Fitness technology platform Harbiz has successfully closed a €5 million funding round led by Octopus Ventures. Existing investors such as JME Ventures, Athos Capital and Enzo Ventures also supported the round.

Javier Ortega, co-founder of Harbiz, highlighted that the funding round will allow to improve the product and realize the vision of making Harbiz a major support partner for fitness and health professionals worldwide.

Harbiz provides fitness professionals with a comprehensive digital business management platform that simplifies interactions with clients and enables them to reach a global audience. In 2023, the company has doubled its revenue and currently serves more than 6,000 professionals improving the lives of over 120,000 clients.

International expansion planned

Founded in 2020 by Mario Morante and Javier Ortega, the company plans to use the funding to expand internationally and further develop its product offerings. One focus is on the integration of AI tools to improve the user experience.

Octopus Ventures, one of the leading VC investors in the UK and Europe, is leading the funding round, supported by JME Ventures, Athos Capital and Enzo Ventures. Mario Morante, CEO and co-founder of Harbiz, commented positively on the milestone achievement and the partnership with Octopus Ventures. He emphasized the confidence to achieve the global goals with the existing team and support of the partners.

The funding round follows a previous round in May 2022 for €2.5 million. Harbiz, currently operating in over 35 countries, plans to strengthen its presence in the UK and Germany. Harbiz offers wellness professionals the opportunity to manage their entire business through one platform, using modern technology. The company has offices in Madrid and London.
