HUM Systems raises 2.3 million euros

The start-up will now use the new funding to drive forward the further development of its smart home products and invest in sales at its new location in Brandenburg.
The smart home manufacturer HUM Systems has received seed funding of 2.3 million euros. The capital comes from business angels from the private investor network Companisto and the venture capital company Brandenburg Kapital. High Rise Ventures is also participating in the round.
Ali Reza Humanfar, Amir Humanfar and Helena Peralta Becker founded the start-up in Berlin in 2017. The company now has 20 employees. The start-up develops smart home products under the "Livy" brand. The company focuses on the care sector. The newly developed "Livy Alive" device is able to hear, see, speak and feel. This is ensured by the integrated sensors, cameras, microphones and radars. This device can be networked with the smartphones of relatives of people in need of help. This means that an alarm can be triggered in the event of a call for help or a fall.
"We invested in HUM because the "Livy Alive" solution addresses one of the biggest challenges in demographic change: enabling older people to live in their own homes for as long as possible," says Katja Kühnel, Senior Investment Manager at Brandenburg Kapital.
