Berlin, October 29, 2024 - ImpactVC, a global network with more than 850 members from over 650 venture capital firms, announces the launch of its German chapter. With over 80 active members, Germany becomes ImpactVC's second largest location and strengthens its international mission to promote impact-focused investments and connect local communities more closely.
In the face of climate change and social challenges, more and more VCs are looking for new ways to combine traditional returns with positive social and environmental impact
Elena Harumi Stark, Head of Impact at AENU
The launch of the Germany chapter is a further step in providing venture capital firms in Germany with resources and a comprehensive network. The focus is on promoting impact investments that create social and ecological added value over and above financial returns. As Chapter Leads, Natalie Milde, Impact & ESG Lead at Future Energy Ventures, and Elena Stark, Head of Impact at AENU, will lead the further development of the German ImpactVC community. They will be supported by an experienced steering committee made up of leading figures in impact investing in Germany: Imtiyaz Basharat, Impact Investor, Elzan Godlewski from Kopa Ventures, Alina Bassi from Ananda Impact Ventures and Laurent-Frederic Lohmann from 4P Capital.
ImpactVC offers a platform for exchange and further development for impact investors, including two comprehensive guides - the VC Impact Playbook (1,600 downloads) and the Founder Impact Playbook (1,900 downloads). These practical tools provide valuable support in integrating impact goals into the strategies and operational processes of VC firms and startups.
Working together in the community allows us to combine financial success with social and environmental outcomes - an exciting development in the VC sector!
