Jaipur Robotics Receives 4.3 Million Euros for AI in Waste-to-Energy Plants
The Swiss AI startup Jaipur Robotics has closed a seed funding round totaling 4.3 million euros. The round was led by EquityPitcher Ventures and the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF). Founded in 2024, the company develops computer vision and AI solutions for waste-to-energy plants and other industrial facilities. Jaipur Robotics plans to use the new capital to expand internationally and further develop its technology.
AI Aims to Automate Waste-to-Energy Plants
Jaipur Robotics’ technology targets an industry sector that has traditionally relied heavily on manual processes. According to the company, there are more than 3,100 waste-to-energy plants worldwide. The startup estimates the market size at around 40 billion euros.
Many of these plants reportedly continue to operate with manual monitoring and analog processes. Jaipur Robotics aims to change that with an AI-based operating system.

Using cameras, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, the technology analyzes the waste delivered and translates the data obtained into information for plant operations. The goal is to detect risks earlier, optimize incineration processes, and, in the long term, automate parts of plant operations. With this funding round, the startup plans to expand its technology to other areas of plant operations.
More than 50 million labeled images
According to the company, Jaipur Robotics has Europe’s largest dataset for waste-to-energy applications, with more than 50 million labeled images. The system currently analyzes more than five million metric tons of waste annually. Hazardous materials are detected with 99 percent accuracy.
Among other things, this data generates real-time alerts for plant operations. Jaipur Robotics states that this can reduce unplanned downtime for customers by more than 80 percent. The composition of the waste is also analyzed. By recording different calorific values, the material can be mixed more effectively and the incineration process controlled more efficiently. The company estimates the resulting added value at more than one million euros per plant per year.
AI Also Supports Crane Control
Another area of application is the control of cranes used to move and mix waste within the plants. Based on the collected data, the system can generate recommendations for crane movements. Through predictive control, processes are to be increasingly automated and plant productivity enhanced.
As a result, Jaipur Robotics is evolving from a pure computer vision solution toward a control and data platform for the entire plant operation. In the long term, the focus is on more autonomous industrial plants. In addition to waste-to-energy plants, the company believes its technology can also be applied to cement and biomass plants.
HTGF and EquityPitcher Lead Seed Round
With EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds, Jaipur Robotics has secured two investors that focus on technology-driven companies.
HTGF investment manager Anna Stetter highlights in particular the combination of the company’s data set, the founding team’s technical expertise, and the already measurable results achieved with customers. The team combines knowledge of mechanical engineering and deep learning with experience in implementing technology in industrial plants. EquityPitcher sees potential for international scaling. Investment manager Silvan Gehmann particularly highlights the company’s close collaboration with its customers. This collaboration is also expected to shape further product development toward increasingly autonomous systems.
Expansion Beyond Europe
Jaipur Robotics is already working with customers in Europe and, according to the company, is currently rolling out its technology to additional waste-to-energy and industrial facilities on several continents. The 4.3 million euros are intended to accelerate this expansion. In addition to new regions, the company aims to tap into additional vertical markets and expand the functionality of its platform.
At the same time, the team is growing. Jaipur Robotics currently employs around 40 people and maintains two research and development centers in Switzerland and Asia. In addition, the startup is seeking new employees in the fields of AI, engineering, and sales.
AI for an Industry That Has Seen Little Digitalization to Date
Jaipur Robotics was founded in 2024. Its headquarters are located at Technopole Ticino in Manno, near Lugano. The company positions itself at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and traditional industrial automation. The waste-to-energy sector, in particular, offers an interesting field of application for this technology. Fluctuating compositions of the waste delivered make automation difficult, while hazardous materials can pose significant risks to facilities and employees.
If AI can reliably identify these material streams and derive control information directly from them, its use could evolve significantly beyond mere monitoring functions. This is precisely what Jaipur Robotics aims to achieve. The visual recognition of waste is intended to gradually lead to data-driven and increasingly automated plant operations. With seed funding of 4.3 million euros, the Swiss startup now plans to scale this approach internationally.
