The Munich-based start-up has closed a successful Series C financing round and raised €80 million. The round was led by Goldman Sachs Growth Equity and Eurazeo.

The HR start-up Malt was able to raise 80 million euros in a Series C financing round. In addition to existing investors such as the fund Isai and Serena Capital, Goldman Sachs also participated with its investment arm and the investment group Eurazeo. Freelancers can be found via Malt's platform; the start-up's digital management system manages everything from job allocation to project completion. Malt is putting the money into further expansion of the platform and plans to develop an acquisition strategy for the European market with its investors.

"In many ways, this latest round of funding highlights the strength of Malt's business model and our dedicated freelancer community," says CEO Vincent Huguet. He co-founded Malt in 2013 with current CTO Hugo Lassiège. Currently, 200 employees work for the start-up and the platform is available in France, Spain and Germany.

"Malt is at the forefront of the future of work, fostering agility, innovation, impact and choice, and making freelancing easier and more reliable," said a delighted Alexandre Flavier, Executive Director at Goldman Sachs Growth Equity. "We are delighted to be working with the founders of Malt."
