Media Lab awards fellowship - 40,000 euros up for grabs

For innovative ideas from the media sector, Media Lab Bayern launches the Media Startup Fellowship. The application deadline is July 18.

A business idea about something to do with media? Then the Media Startup Fellowship is probably the right place to start. The application phase of the Media Lab Bayern program runs until July 18, the nine-month support starts in October. It is aimed at both technical and content ideas that already have initial feedback, but the idea does not have to be tested in practice. The nine months is a full-time program that focuses on workshops, lectures, exposure to mentors and working on business plans. Also in 2021, everything takes place remotely, so the creative minds behind the idea don't have to be in Munich.

Those who are accepted will receive a €40,000 prototyping budget. The program is divided into three phases: In the first, the product is tested and further developed, for which each idea is given 10,000 euros. In the second phase, the Media Lab supports the search for partners and initial contacts in the media world, for which it also receives 10,000 euros. The third phase prepares for market entry. With 20,000 euros, the business model is designed and funding is prepared.
