Media Lab awards fellowship - 40,000 euros up for grabs

Media Lab Bayern is launching the Media Startup Fellowship for innovative ideas from the media sector. The application deadline is July 18.

A business idea about something to do with media? Then the Media Startup Fellowship is probably the right place to start. The application phase of the Media Lab Bayern program runs until 18 July, with the nine-month support starting in October. It is aimed at both technical and content ideas that have already received initial feedback, but the idea does not have to have been tested in practice. The nine-month program is a full-time program that focuses on workshops, lectures, contact with mentors and working on business plans. Everything will also take place remotely in 2021, so the creative minds behind the idea do not have to be in Munich.

Those who are accepted will receive a 40,000 euro prototyping budget. The program is divided into three phases: In the first, the product is tested and further developed, for which each idea is given 10,000 euros. In the second phase, the Media Lab provides support in the search for partners and initial contacts in the media world, for which there is also 10,000 euros. The third phase prepares for market entry. With 20,000 euros, the business model is designed and funding is prepared.
