Mental health start-up Likeminded receives 3.5 million euros

Among the investors are Hasso Plattner and Christian Weiss.

Heartcore Capital and the Hasso Plattner Institute are investing €3.5 million in Likeminded, the digital group therapy platform. In addition, Christian Weiss is adding money as a business angel. Weiss is, among other things, CEO of Gesundheitscloud, which was founded by the Hasso Plattner Institute. Likeminded was founded in 2020 by psychologist Kimberly Breuer and her two co-founders Maximilian Heberger and Stefan Anca.

"We are impressed with the team behind Likeminded," says Christian Jepsen, Founding Partner at Heartcore Capital. "It brings not only the necessary expertise and experience, but also the will as well as the vision to digitize the mental health market. Likeminded creates an offering that makes mental support accessible to the general public and permanently changes the status quo of this often still too stigmatized topic." Breuer, the founder, speaks of a huge undersupply of professional psychotherapy. "Affected people sometimes wait several months for psychotherapeutic support or are simply overwhelmed by the lack of transparency surrounding the topic of mental health," she says. "With our digital approach, we are therefore creating a fast, low-threshold and at the same time effective solution that can pick people up on the topic as early as possible and help to eliminate the stubborn stigma surrounding mental health."

On Likeminded, sufferers can book classes where they can meet three to five like-minded people (Likeminded in English) and talk about anxiety, stress, relationships, heartbreak and self-worth. These group discussions are facilitated by professional psychologists.
