Care start-up Kenbi receives seven million euros

The start-up is building up a nursing service that already cares for around 400 patients. The young company's software is expected to save 20 percent of the time spent on bureaucratic tasks.
Kenbi receives seven million euros from a seed funding. The round was led by Redalpine. Previous investors Heartcore, E.Ventures and Partech also participated.
The startup is building a caregiver service that already serves 400 outpatients. The model is caregiver-centric, meaning caregivers organize work largely on their own based on care management software. Up to 20 percent time can be saved on bureaucratic tasks, the young company believes. The start-up began its work in 2019 in Emmerthal in Lower Saxony and is now expanding in Germany.
"By combining technology and organizational innovation, we believe Kenbi meets all the requirements to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in Germany - caused by an aging population and other demographic changes," says new investor Michael Sidler of Redalpine. The money will be used to expand care teams, automate back-office processes and further develop the app.
