Plusdental wins professional soccer player as investor

The national player and other investors are investing 35 million euros in the start-up. This is the second piece of news about Dentalplus in less than four weeks.
In a recently completed financing round, the start-up Plusdental was able to raise a further 35 million euros and, with Mario Götze, also win over a well-known face from outside the start-up sector for its product. Götze is both an investor and a customer of the young company.
In technical jargon, the popular dental splints are called "aligners". They are designed to ensure that teeth are straight and, according to the providers' promises, are transparent. This makes them very different from the rather unsightly braces that children get from their orthodontist. In the current financing round, Biontech investor Jebsen Capital, among others, invested in the business idea.
Constantin Bisanz, David Khalil, Peter Baumgart and Lukas Brosseder founded the start-up in 2017 under the name Sunshine Smile, but have since renamed it. Plusdental has already convinced investors in the past. Last year, the Ping An Global Voyager Fund from Hong Kong, among others, invested 32 million euros. At the time, the start-up from Berlin was valued by investors at more than 100 million euros.
At the beginning of March, the company announced its expansion into Spain (Startbase reported exclusively), where it plans to invest a total of ten million euros. This was the eighth market for the still young company in just a few years.
