Porsche invests in 1Komma5°

The start-up 1Komma5° wants to create a network of craftsmen in the energy sector. The idea has won over car manufacturer Porsche.
Porsche Ventures has invested in the Hamburg-based start-up 1Komma5°. According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the car manufacturer's investment arm and several unnamed family offices have invested around 100 million euros in the energy start-up.
"The core idea of 1Komma5° is that anyone can make their home climate-neutral and even save money in the process. With Porsche's support, we want to become the backbone of the transition to decentralized and renewable energies," says 1Komma5° co-founder and CEO Philipp Schröder. The start-up plans to use the capital to invest more than 100 million euros in the acquisition of climate-neutral companies over the next two years. Showrooms are also set to open in Hamburg and Lingen an der Ems next year.
1Komma5° was founded by Philipp Schröder, Micha Grüber and Jannik Schall in Hamburg. The start-up is geared towards the 1.5 degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement and offers solar systems, energy storage systems and heat pumps. To this end, 1Komma5° invests in electrical installation companies and helps them with digitalization.
