Prematch receives €2.4 million

Soccer platform Prematch has successfully closed a 2.4 million financing round. The startup is targeting business angels with lead investor Scahdeberg Family Office.

Prematch is a platform for amateur soccer that offers personalized news, detailed match statistics and dedicated profile pages for players with gamification elements. Users can add favorites and receive personalized news and results for almost all weekend games based on that.

The round was led by Schadeberg Family Office, while a pool of successful business angels, including Ralf Reichert, the Unicorn Co-Founder & CEO of ESL Gaming, and Verena Pausder, entrepreneur, author and co-founder of FC Viktoria Berlin, also invested. Patric Fassbender and Marcus Stahl, founders of Tonies, also participated in the funding round.

The soccer platform aims to change the experience around amateur sports. The idea behind it is simple: players, teams and clubs are to be put in the spotlight. Every player gets his own page on the platform, where he can present himself and his content. This means not only more visibility, but also the opportunity to network with other players and make friends.

The platform's business model is based on partnerships with national brands that can get involved in amateur soccer through prematch campaigns. In doing so, the campaigns are presented on the platform and targeted to players and fans.

We see that real soccer will quickly gain in importance as a result of this trend and advancing digitalization

The founders of the platform are certain that by focusing on the players and working closely with partners from the business community, the amateur soccer experience will be elevated to a new level. The first partnerships with national brands have already been rolled out and the response has been consistently positive. In the future, the platform will be further expanded to reach even more players and teams and make the experience around amateur sports even more personal.

About Prematch

Founded in July 2021, the startup Prematch is headquartered in Cologne and currently employs 18 people. The company was a participant in the WHU Accelerator and was already able to close a financing round of 1.7 million euros in the summer of 2022. One of the investors at that time was Gorillas co-founder Jörg Kattner(we reported). The founding team consists of Fiete Grünter, Lukas Röhle and Niklas Brackmann.
