Promptwatch Raises 6 Million Euros and Bets on the Future of AI Search Optimization

GEO instead of SEO. Promptwatch helps companies stay visible in ChatGPT and similar platforms.

AI systems such as ChatGPT and other generative search services are increasingly answering user queries directly, without users having to click on traditional search results. The Dutch startup Promptwatch aims to help companies remain visible in this new landscape and has now raised 6 million euros in a seed funding round.

The round is led by seed + speed Ventures. Also participating are Blum Ventures and Arches Capital, which is doubling its pre-seed investment from last year.

GEO Instead of SEO

Promptwatch is developing a platform for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), which focuses on optimizing visibility in AI-generated responses.

While traditional SEO aims to appear as high as possible in Google search results, Promptwatch analyzes how large language models perceive brands, which sources they cite, and why certain companies are recommended—or not. According to the company, the platform draws on more than 10 million data points from real AI queries every day.

From Analysis to Automated Implementation

This approach goes beyond traditional monitoring tools. Promptwatch positions itself as an end-to-end platform for AI search optimization.

In addition to analysis, the software identifies missing content, detects technical vulnerabilities, and creates AI-optimized content. Through integrations with content management systems such as WordPress or Webflow, optimizations can then even be published automatically. The company refers to this approach as “Agentic AI Search Optimization.”

Impressive growth in just twelve months

Particularly noteworthy is the speed at which Promptwatch is growing. Founded as recently as 2025, the company had already achieved an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of over 2 million euros by May 2026—and all with just 1.2 million euros in pre-seed capital.

According to the company, more than 1,840 companies already rely on the platform, including Duolingo, Fireflies, and the global marketing agency Monks.

Expansion into the U.S.

With the fresh capital, Promptwatch plans to further develop its agent-based platform, build out additional AI features, and expand internationally.

A key step in this effort is opening an office in New York to be closer to international brands, marketing agencies, and corporate clients.

AI Is Transforming the Search Engine Market

The timing could hardly be more opportune. According to a study by Gartner, organic search traffic could decline by more than 50 percent by 2028, as more and more users obtain their information directly through AI systems.

For companies, this means that visibility and reach are no longer determined solely by Google rankings, but increasingly also by how AI systems evaluate brands and present them in their responses.

Promptwatch positions itself precisely at this intersection and is banking on Generative Engine Optimization becoming an established discipline in digital marketing in the coming years.
