Recup wins Lieferando as a partner

The start-up for recyclable boxes and cups will cooperate with the delivery service in the future, according to a media report.
The start-up Recup has grown in recent months and has now gained a new partner. Lieferando, which claims to be Germany's largest food delivery service, will use the start-up's recyclable meal boxes for its deliveries in the future. This is reported by Wirtschaftswoche. Initially, test deliveries are planned for 30 restaurants in Berlin; in the future, the cooperation could be larger.
Lieferando Germany boss Katharina Hauke sees this as a big step: "We want to establish a returnable system that is as user-friendly and practical as possible for all parties involved. This is crucial for acceptance on the part of restaurateurs and consumers in order to establish a system solution that is suitable for the masses."
The idea behind Recup is to establish a deposit system for meal boxes and drinking cups. The start-up, founded in 2016, has developed reusable boxes and reusable cups for this purpose, although the drinking cups, for coffee for example, were in the range much earlier and are also more widespread.
