Munich-based ed-tech startup Rocket Tutor receives one million euro investment from better ventures and Caesar Ventures to expand personalized math learning with AI in Germany. Their goal: to make education more accessible for students.

Munich, October 16, 2023 - Munich-based ed-tech startup Rocket Tutor has successfully raised a one million euro investment from better ventures, Caesar Ventures and other Investor:in. Rocket Tutor uses Artificial Intelligence to make personalized math learning accessible and affordable for students in Germany.

We use AI and data-driven techniques to support personalized learning.

Yue Wu, co-founder of Rocket Tutor

Rocket Tutor's founders, Yue Wu, Lionel Rühlemann, and Komaldeep Chahal, aim to make education accessible to all students using AI. Their approach has yielded promising results in a pilot project with 10,000 students in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. 71% of users confirmed that the platform helped them, and a grade improvement of 0.86 (on a scale of 0-15) was recorded for every 10% learning improvement.

In many schools, teachers lack the resources to provide individual attention in crowded classrooms, while private tutoring is often costly. Rocket Tutor offers free services for all students, with a low-cost premium account option that provides additional features. Rocket Tutor has worked with teachers, schools, and tutors from the beginning and has already received recognition from teachers.

We see AI and technology as tools to make education better, more accessible, and more efficient.

Lionel Ruehlemann, co-founder of Rocket Tutor

Currently, the platform is available to students in grades 11, 12, and 13 in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia and focuses on math. By the end of 2024, Rocket Tutor plans to expand the platform across Germany to cover grades 8-13. Expansion to other subjects, especially in STEM, is planned for the future. This expansion is made possible by a €1 million funding round, led by Caesar Ventures and supported by business angels, including the angel network of better ventures.
