Cultimate Foods receives 2.3 million euros in seed financing

Culitmate Foods receives 2.3 million euros for the future of the plant-based meat industry! The startup develops alternative fat that adds authentic flavor to plant-based meat products!

Berlin, April 23, 2024 - Cultimate Foods, a biotech startup based in Berlin's Biocube and in Hanover at Leibniz University's Institute of Technical Chemistry, has successfully completed a seed round. The aim is to scale up production processes and expand commercial collaborations.

The investors

The financing round of 2.3 million euros was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), a leading European seed investor. Other investors include Life Science Valley Wachstumsfonds, b.value AG and Kale United. The world's leading foodtech investor Big Idea Ventures also participated.

Cultimate Foods has reached important milestones in a short space of time, established strong relationships with the foodtech industry and concluded cooperation agreements with universities.

Although plant-based alternatives are increasingly popular, taste remains a key issue for consumers. Cultimate Foods began its journey in Göttingen at the Life Science Factory, where it gained access to state-of-the-art laboratories immediately after the pre-seed round. Cultimate Foods has raised over 3 million euros so far and is backed by strong investors such as HTGF, b.value AG, Life Science Valley Wachstumsfonds as well as Big Idea Ventures, ProVeg International and Kale United.
