Sennder continues to expand its management

It was only in January that Sennder rose to unicorn status, and May is all about expanding the executive team. Earlier this month, the logistics startup announced the creation of the chief operating officer position, and now it's bringing on Adeola Ogunwole as senior director of marketing and communications. She will primarily be tasked with driving awareness of the Sennder brand. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has been with Sennder since April.

"The company has already built a strong reputation as an innovator and industry leader in digital freight forwarding. I am excited about the opportunity to further develop Sennder into a global brand and strengthen our connection with carriers and shippers," Ogunwole said of her new role. The Harvard graduate has 20 years of experience in developing scalable marketing strategies, stops most recently included Here Technologies, Channel Advisor and Hult International.

Sennder had attained unicorn status in January with a $160 million funding round. The startup, founded in 2015, says it offers an all-inclusive program for logistics companies. In addition to the new hire, Sennder is adding 12,500 trucks to its distribution network. In August, former Kühne+Nagel manager Nicholas Minde will join Sennder in the newly created position of chief operating officer.
