Songtradr acquires Musicube

The Hamburg-based start-up's technology will help improve music search and recommendation.
US-based music company Songtradr announces the acquisition of Hamburg-based startup Musicube. Musicube specializes in AI metadata for music search. With the acquisition, Songtradr aims to expand its portfolio with technology-enabled music solutions to help find the right music and target audiences in a measurable way. Both companies would share the vision of an artist-friendly music industry.
"Musicube has approached audio analytics from a completely unique perspective and this acquisition accelerates our mission to increase the value and effectiveness of music in content," said Paul Wiltshire, CEO of Songtradr. Going forward, Musicube's technology, data and team would help improve the user experience for customers.
"We are incredibly fortunate to join this exceptional team of music lovers and technologists, as every single conversation we've had has been marked by both cordiality and an ambitious agenda," said David Hoga, CEO and founder of Musicube. He co-founded the company with Agnes Chung in 2019.
