Sono Motors founder makes his salary transparent

Laurin Hahn's gross annual salary for this year is 56,000 euros. In response to criticism of his business activities, he disclosed his salary and bonus payments on Twitter.
Last week, Sono Motors launched the "#saveSion" campaign to raise the equity needed for its solar electric car Sion. Since then, the company has received a lot of encouragement on Twitter, but also criticism that the money from pre-reservations and financing rounds has been mismanaged. As a result, founder Laurin Hahn has disclosed his salary on the platform. "I hope to be able to show everyone transparently that we at Sono are doing everything we can for the cause," he writes. "We work hard to get the Sion on the road. And are very efficient and economical with (your) money."
According to this, he did not receive a salary in 2016 and 2017. When asked by a Twitter user what he did for a living during this period, Hahn replied that he also worked at weekends. From April 2018, he received a gross salary of 1,700 euros, rising to 2,666.66 euros gross from July of the same year. The next salary increase followed last year: from March to November, he received a gross salary of 4,416.67 euros. Since December 2021, his gross salary has been €4,666.67. Hahn's gross annual salary is therefore currently around 56,000 euros.
He has also received one-off bonus payments of 8,500 euros since 2016. In addition, Hahn received compensation of 307,852.84 euros for the IPO in November 2021, including a bonus for the IPO and compensation for legal fees for the Sono points, which the founders have to bear privately. Everyone who has reserved a Sion receives a share of the founders' profits through the Sono points.
Sono Motors is currently planning a tour to present its Sion solar electric car to the public. It starts tomorrow in Berlin. Further stops are Hamburg, Amsterdam, Oberhausen, Frankfurt, Fürth, Stuttgart, Bern, Zurich, Innsbruck and Vienna. As part of the Save Sion campaign, pre-orderers receive a discount of up to 3,000 euros on the purchase price.
