Career Day with over 5,000 career options successfully completed

The 31st Family Business Career Day has just taken place under the motto "Purpose" at the new Viega World in Attendorn. Over 600 top talents met 53 leading family businesses such as ABUS, HARIBO and Vaillant. In total, more than 1,000 pre-scheduled individual interviews and numerous stand discussions were held, with over 5,000 career opportunities on offer. The participating candidates came from Germany and all over the world to find out about the wide range of career opportunities in family businesses and to make contacts. Family businesses, which make up 90% of companies in Germany and provide 60% of jobs, are characterized by sustainable management, a positive working atmosphere and diverse development opportunities. The strategic importance of "Purpose" was emphasized by Anna Viegener, Chairwoman of the Shareholders' Committee of Viega Holding GmbH & Co. KG, emphasized the strategic importance of purpose. The next Family Business Career Day is planned for July 5, 2024 at dm in Karlsruhe, followed by the 33rd Career Day on November 8, 2024 at the SMS group campus in Mönchengladbach.

The future of space energy: DCUBED and Solestial present solar solution

DCUBED and Solestial have announced a partnership to develop a new solar panel that has the potential to drastically reduce energy costs in space. This new solar array, which utilizes a combination of DCUBED's support structure and Solestial's ultra-thin, flexible silicon solar modules, is expected to pave the way for more energy-intensive satellite applications that were previously not possible with available solutions. Through a planned in-orbit demonstration in 2024, they aim to show the efficiency of this system, with a 1 kW version expected in 2025 and a 10 kW version in 2026.

Accidentally Wes Anderson, which is dedicated to the aesthetics of Wes Anderson's films, has put together an itinerary through Switzerland together with Switzerland Tourism. This route leads to places that are reminiscent of Anderson's unique visual world. The collaboration marks AWA's first cooperation with a national tourism organization. The selected locations cover the whole of Switzerland and are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also culturally and historically significant. From picturesque mountain landscapes to nostalgic cog railroads, these locations reflect the Wes Anderson aesthetic. Most notably, all of the recommended places are accessible by public transportation, which puts the spotlight on sustainable travel in Switzerland. New at N26: call deposit account in the app with variable interest rates of up to 2.6%

Mobile bank N26 has expanded its product range to include a flexible call money account that offers German customers interest rates of up to 2.6% p.a. This account is accessible via the N26 app, with no deposit limits or additional costs. Interest rates vary depending on the account model: N26 Metal customers receive 2.6%, N26 Smart and You customers receive 2.26%, and users of the N26 Standard account receive 1.26%. Until January 31, 2024, all new customers will receive the maximum rate of 2.6%, regardless of the account model chosen. Interest earnings are credited monthly and deposits are protected up to €100,000 per customer by the German deposit protection scheme. N26 plans to offer the call deposit account in other markets as well.

DFH Group: Strategic alliance with aedifion

DFH Group GmbH has entered into a partnership with aedifion, a provider of sustainable operational optimization of buildings using AI-based cloud platforms. In a pilot project, several office and commercial properties were digitally optimized, resulting in more efficient operation and savings in energy, CO2 and costs. This technology enables automated, needs-based control of building operations. DFH is thus aiming to maximize long-term energy efficiency and implement its ESG strategy. This partnership not only supports economic efficiency, but also enables transparent sustainability reporting through comprehensive building data. Jörg-Karsten Hagen, Head of Asset Management at DFH, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration for a digital and sustainable future of the real estate industry.
