Synera receives 35 million euros for AI-supported automation in engineering
Bremen-based AI startup Synera has closed a Series B financing round of 35 million euros. The round is led by European growth investor Revaia, with significant participation from UVC Partners. Other investors include ISAI Cap Venture (via Capgemini) and existing backers such as Spark Capital, BMW i Ventures and Cherry Ventures. The capital will flow into product development and international expansion.
AI agents automate complex engineering processes
Industrial companies are increasingly investing in generative AI, yet only around 41% of prototypes make it into productive use. The reasons for this are fragmented processes and a lack of integration.
Synera has its own platform that uses AI agents to autonomously execute engineering workflows along the entire product life cycle. The solution integrates with over 80 existing engineering tools, enabling automation without having to replace existing systems.
Focus on "AI Engineers" instead of isolated tools
CEO Moritz Maier describes the approach as a fundamental paradigm shift.
This funding enables us to realize a new type of engineering in which AI agents act as true digital engineers and autonomously execute complex workflows along the entire value chain.
Dr. Moritz Maier, CEO of Synera
The aim is to comprehensively digitalize engineering, one of the least automated corporate functions to date.
Strong growth and international expansion
Synera doubled its turnover last year and now serves more than 60 customers in 15 countries. These include well-known companies such as BMW, Airbus, NASA, Volvo Trucks and Miele. With the new financing, the company plans to enter the US and Asian markets and to further expand its presence in Europe, including through a new team in France.
The investors see great potential in the platform: Synera is positioning itself as an enabler for the next evolutionary stage of industrial product development. The combination of AI agents, existing tool integration and growing customer demand could make the company a key player in the field of AI-driven engineering.
