The Chinese internet group is leading a financing round for the insurance start-up Clark.

Clark has closed its Series C financing round with a total of 69 million euros. The largest investor is the Chinese group Tencent, known for the chat app WeChat. The previous investors Portag3 Ventures, White Star Capital and Yabeo have increased their investment.

Clark is an app designed to give users an overview of their insurance policies. In the event of an insurance claim, Clark mediates between the insurance company and the customer. The start-up was founded in Frankfurt in 2015. "With its technology-driven and customer-centric business model, Clark is a clear market leader in the digital insurance industry in Germany," says Alex Leung, Assistant General Manager of Tencent, about the internet company's new investment.

On the other hand, Christopher Oster, co-founder and CEO of Clark, is also full of praise: "We are excited to grow even faster with the help of Tencent and achieve our goal of becoming the largest insurance broker for consumers in Europe," he says.
