Vinci Da Gama Fund invests over 9 million euros in the Kodano Group

The Vinci Da Gama Fund, managed by Vinci S.A., has invested EUR 9.3 million (PLN 40 million) in the Kodano Group. The funds will be used to accelerate the company's expansion into European markets

Warsaw, October 10, 2024 - Kodano Group, a provider of optical products in Poland, has successfully secured €9.3 million from Vinci Da Gama Fund. The fund, managed by Vinci S.A., specializes in investing in high-growth companies. The fresh capital will be used to drive European expansion and increase production in the company's own optical lens laboratory.

We are convinced that thanks to the experience of the team and the chosen strategy, Kodano can take a leading role in the European eyewear and contact lens market.

Focus on e-commerce and expansion

The Kodano Group operates a network of over 100 own and franchise optician stores and is increasingly focusing on e-commerce. The company already sells in countries such as Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Lithuania. The investment is intended to strengthen its presence in European markets and further advance product development.

Growth potential in the global optical market

The market for spectacles and contact lenses is growing steadily as more and more people suffer from vision problems. According to the World Health Organization, over 2 billion people worldwide have vision problems and this number is expected to continue to rise. Kodano intends to capitalize on this growing demand and use the investment to strengthen its position as market leader in Europe.

We plan to use the funds to expand our store network in selected CEE markets and to increase e-commerce sales in European countries. Our goal is to expand the product range and increase profitability.

It was only in the summer of 2024 that we announced about a 7.7 million euro investment by Vinci in the development of Polish electric and hydrogen buses. Shortly before that, the company leading role in a 10 million euro round for Quantum Innovationswhich develops technologies for monitoring organs during operations.
