Vytal cooperates with Chefs Culinar

Reusable packaging will be mandatory from 2023. Vytal has already set up a digital reusable platform and wants to gain even more partner companies through its partnership with Chefs Culinar.

The start-up Vytal and the wholesale supplier Chefs Culinar have agreed a strategic partnership. By the end of the year, the companies want to expand the start-up's digital reusable platform to 20,000 partner companies in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Denmark. Currently, 2,350 restaurants, company catering outlets, supermarkets and companies use Vytal's reusable containers, including Vapiano, Hans im Glück and Dominos.

The Cologne-based start-up has been around since 2019 and offers reusable containers in various sizes and designs. The range includes bowls, coffee cups, sushi packaging, burger boxes and pizza packaging. The partner companies can pack their customers' food in the containers. Each container has a QR code that is linked to the Vytal app on the customer's cell phone. They can borrow the trays free of charge for two weeks and then return them to the participating companies. This creates a reusable system that will be mandatory for all caterers from 2023.

Chefs Culinar became aware of the start-up at the Internorga trade fair in Hamburg. There, Vytal was nominated for the Internorga Future Award. Vytal will be exhibiting its reusable containers and vending machines at the Chefs Culinar trade fair in Neumünster, which starts today, and at the upcoming trade fair in Ulm.
