Prosiebensat1 has sold its shares in the Moebel.de platform. The XXXLutz Group is taking over and acquiring a stake in the Hamburg-based start-up.

XXXLutz is acquiring the Nucom Group's shares in the Moebel.de platform; the parties have agreed not to disclose the price. The Nucom Group, formerly Seven Ventures and part of Prosiebensat1, acquired a stake in Mobel.de, which was founded in 2007, back in 2013. Customers can use the platform to find everything to do with furnishings; according to the company, the site offers three million products and has five million visitors per month.

Mobel.de was launched in the Netherlands just last year and has also been available in France since 2016.

"The exit of the investor has given the XXXLutz Group the opportunity to invest," says XXXLutz CEO Alois Kobler. "We will not be taking over any operational activities with this investment. The existing management under CEO Arne Stock will continue to operate the neutral platform as before and will further internationalize it in the coming years," the CEO continues.
