According to a media report, Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonek want to raise a double-digit million amount for their new fund.

As founders, they first built up the payment provider Sumup, then the accounting start-up Zeitgold. But Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonek are also active as investors. As the magazine Finance Forward magazine reports, the two are currently building up their third fund under the Berlin VC Discovery Ventures. The aim is to raise an amount in the double-digit millions.

They want to invest between 200,000 euros and half a million euros in young companies. The magazine reports that there will be six to eight financing deals per year. The founders emphasize that they deliberately want to keep the fund small. Some investors have asked us whether we would like to set up a larger fund," Deepen tells Finance Forward. "But in order to be able to continue to focus as we have so far, we are deliberately sticking to a sum in the mid double-digit million range."
