Zeitgold founders apparently launch third fund

According to a media report, Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonek want to raise a double-digit million amount for their new fund.

First they built up the payment provider Sumup as founders, then the accounting start-up Zeitgold. But Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonek are also investors. As the magazine Finance Forward reports, the two are currently building up their third fund under the Berlin VC Discovery Ventures. A double-digit million amount is to be raised for this.

They want to invest between 200,000 euros and half a million euros in young companies. Six to eight financings are to take place each year, the magazine reports. The founders stress that they deliberately want to keep the fund small. Some backers have asked us if we want to launch a larger fund," Deepen tells Finance Forward. "But to be able to continue to focus as we have been, we are deliberately sticking to a sum in the mid-double-digit millions."
