The start-up plans to use the capital raised to expand into Asia, North America and the Middle East.

The startup, K Line Europe, has raised €3.5 million in a Series A funding round, as Tech EU reported. The round is led by Finnish backer Maki.vc. The company plans to use the new capital to continue its expansion in Europe and enter new markets in Asia, the Middle East and North America.

The start-up offers orthodontic patients a monitoring system for their dental trays. This allows patients to check the progress of their teeth straightening and make changes to their dental trays themselves, instead of visiting an orthodontist on a regular basis. Additionally, the company, which was founded in 2014, manufactures dental trays itself. According to the company, K Line has a presence in more than 25 countries and employs more than 100 people.

"K Line has developed a great product that has already attracted the interest of some of the biggest names in dentistry," says Ilkka Kivimäki, founding partner of Maki.vc. Medical technology would desperately need new technological advances.
