Agriportance closes seed round

The biomethane start-up wants to digitize its product. The company did not publish an exact sum.
The biomethane start-up Agriportance receives a seven-figure financing sum in a seed financing round. The company did not disclose the exact amount. The round was led by High-Tech-Gründerfonds and other business angels. With the fresh capital, the founding team mainly wants to push the digitalization of their product. The founders also want to expand further into the European market.
Henning Dicks and Thorsten Rohling founded the start-up in June 2021 in Münster. They want to create the digital infrastructure through which biogas plants can produce the green natural gas alternative biomethane. Dicks is a farmer, Rohling is a software developer. "Biogas producers always approached us with the same two problems," Dicks says. "On the one hand, the complex greenhouse gas balance, and on the other, many question marks about marketing to energy industry buyers with offices abroad." That's why Agriportance is betting on a European biomethane market in which the certification process works digitally. In the long term, the start-up wants to develop a solution for this.
